In the northern central province of Napo, Ecuador, the Amazon rainforests have a low development. It is home to many indigenous people who remain isolated, conserving their history, culture, and environment. The historic Yachana Lodge is located near the capital Canton of Tena, in this province. Situated on 420 acres (170 hectares) of pristine rainforest, this property is 1,247 feet above sea level and consists of three adjacent lots, all with the Napo River along the southern borders. Lot #34 has all of the structures and is 62 hectares, Lot #35 is 50 Hectares of vacant rainforest, and Lot #36 is 58 Hectares of the vacant rainforest. The views from the ridge where the lodge is located are the most spectacular of any lodge in Ecuador.
For over ten years, the Yachana Lodge was used as an eco-friendly and education-based facility emphasizing teaching about sustainable practices and promoting awareness through hands-on experiences in farming and indigenous customs. During the past two years, it has undergone a complete renovation, with all significant structures having been renovated from top to bottom. The structures on the property include a two-story reception hall with five rooms and a bathroom, two outside thatched roof dining halls with a large viewing deck of the Napo River, one large commercial kitchen with propane stove, oven, and stainless steel prep tables, one manager/owner cabana with a bathroom and balcony that can sleep two people, and one set of public set of restrooms (two male and two female) as well as a washer and storage room For guest lodging; there are four attached cabanas with a bathroom and balcony in each that sleeps two people each, one individual cabana that sleeps three with glass windows, air conditioning, bathroom and balcony, and nine individual cabanas that sleep three with screened windows, bathroom, and balcony.
