As they say, getting older is not for the weak of heart. With so many things happening in the world today that NONE of us ever thought we would live through, don't forget about this very important benefit of being a U.S. citizen. As you may or may not know, you need to sign up to receive your Medicare when you turn 65. You can sign up during your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) to start to receive Medicare when you turn 65. The IEP, to sign up for medicare, starts three months before your 65th birthday to three months after your 65th birthday. If you do not sign up during the IEP, you will get another chance to sign up every year following from January 1st through March 31st, however those benefits will not begin until the following July. Also, because you signed up late, your monthly Medicare B payments will likely cost you more money.
So...my tip of the day...look into this as you get closer to your 65th birthday. Take care of yourselves and your family. Ciao for now!!
